About This Course
This course is specifically designed for workers that engage with people from diverse cultures. The programme takes individuals through a process that allows them to explore and understanding impact of mental health issues for different communities

The programme will develop a level of confidence and competence to assist workers to engage in appropriate, sensitive and meaningful way with diverse groups and communities.

Who Should Attend?
The workshop is aimed primarily at mental health workers. It has been specifically designed to take into account the current demands of the mental health service

  Approved Social workers
  Staff engaged in working with minority communities

Course Objectives
The course aims to combine theoretical input with experiential exercises to offer workers the opportunity to enhance and further their learning.

  Understand the difference between different life styles and mental health.
  Understanding cultural differences.
  Understand how to construct environments for building quality relationships.
  Understanding how power and control impacts on relationships.
  Understanding the relationship between minority groups and the mental health system.
  This is a one-day programme to introduce workers to the concepts and practice of
    anti-discriminatory mental health service.
